The Impeachment Show
Show branding & graphics

VICE News’ The Impeachment Show explored the impeachment process that surrounded President Trump, week-by-week. The creative team struck a balance between irreverence and historical gravity to depict the presidents who faced impeachment. Legal text and transcripts are scrawled on the screen in their original font, which evokes the bureaucratic formality of the process. Meanwhile, the presidents themselves rarely appear composed. Bill Clinton squirms, Richard Nixon’s brows furrow, and Donald Trump’s face contorts as if they’re directly confronted by those words.

VICE News made sure the presidents’ depictions rested on context, not implication. For example, Trump is pictured next to Nixon for only a brief moment to stay away from implying guilt, but a message to his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, appears plastered over his face.
